Commonly used platform language
- Origin – starting point of a shipment.
- Destination – endpoint where products are delivered.
- Mode of Transportation (MoT) – method used to transport products, such as Air, Ocean, and Road. There could be several modes of transportation on one lane.
- Product – goods being moved along a lane. Several products can be used on a single lane.
- Waypoint – specific stop or location along a route where goods are picked up, transferred, or delivered. Waypoints can include origins, distribution centers, transit hubs, or final delivery locations.
- Segment – portion of a route between two consecutive waypoints, representing the actual path taken by shipments during transportation.
- Route – different paths taken from the Origin to the Destination. A route consists of an Origin, a Destination, and includes any number of waypoints, segments, and Modes of Transportation. A lane may have multiple routes.
